A legendary journey, reimagined through bold, collaborative theatre-making. The Cornerstone Theatre Company presents a new devised adaptation of Journey to the West, the much-loved 16th-century Chinese epic.
Follow Tang Sanzang, a Buddhist monk on a perilous quest to retrieve sacred scriptures, joined by three extraordinary companions: the mischievous Monkey King, Sun Wukong; the irrepressible Pigsy; and the steadfast Sandy. Together, they must overcome a series of dangerous trials, facing demons, illusions and impossible odds.
Blending physical storytelling, humour and striking visuals, this ensemble-driven production explores transformation, loyalty and what it means to change.
