Are you looking for inspiration, ideas and recipes to turn leftover fresh ingredients into a delicious meal and reduce food waste?

Do you want to meet and find out about local organisations who can help you to access low-cost, fresh food?

Do you have questions on how to recycle or home compost peelings, tea bags and other unavoidable food waste?

Come to Cornerstone between 10am and 3pm to get answers to all these questions, sample some delicious fresh cooked food and enjoy a pedal-powered smoothie.

Pudding Pie Cookery School will be running cookery demonstrations throughout the day using surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste. Pick up advice, recipes and practical tips on using up different food items and reducing how much is wasted at home. Come and speak to Sofea to learn how you can access low-cost food in Didcot at their community larder. Work up a sweat making smoothies with a pedal powered smoothie maker borrowed from Share Oxford’s library of things.

Take part in activities with Good Food Oxfordshire including:

  • A carbon costing plate and game
  • Sowing pea shoots in egg boxes
  • Seed matching game
  • Cooking toolkits and cooking resources / recipes
  • Tips on growing at home
  • Tips for reducing food waste and meal planning

Recycling staff from Oxfordshire County Council and South and Vale District Councils will also be on hand to answer all of your questions or queries about food waste recycling and anything else related to waste reduction, reuse, recycling and the circular economy.
