Meet the young cast of Cinderella!

16 talented young actors from Oxfordshire have been chosen to join the cast of Cinderella, set to hit the stage this Christmas. The successful youngsters were selected from auditions held on Saturday 14 September, by the directors of KD Theatre Productions, the professional company behind this year’s pantomime.

The auditions attracted 50 hopefuls from across the region, split into two age groups: juniors (9-11) and seniors (12-16). The young performers will form two teams, Team Cinders and Team Buttons, who will alternate throughout the show’s run.

Daniel Bell, Producer at KD Theatre Productions, praised the participants, saying, “We were blown away by the talent that attended our open audition day. A huge thank you and well done to everyone who came! Being a part of the pantomime is a fantastic opportunity for young people to appear in a professional production, where they will gain experience and make memories for life!”

The young actors will meet the professional cast for dress rehearsals in December, preparing for a magical Christmas season.

Councillor Georgina Heritage, Cabinet Member for Communities at South Oxfordshire District Council, expressed her excitement, “It’s wonderful that so many local young people can have this experience alongside a professional cast on the Cornerstone stage this Christmas. I’ll be coming along on the Preview Night and can’t wait to see the show.”

Cinderella will run from Wednesday 18 December to Tuesday 31 December, promising fun for all ages. Families can catch the show early with a special discounted preview on 18 December at 7 pm.

For those needing additional accessibility, a signed and relaxed performance is scheduled for 1 pm on Sunday, 21 December. There will also be a free Touch Tour on Saturday, 28 December, at 1 pm, offering visually impaired attendees a chance to explore the stage, meet the cast, and experience the costumes and props up close.
