1. This competition is owned and managed by South Oxfordshire (“the Council”) who run Cornerstone Arts Centre and whose registered office is at Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon OX14 3JE
Win a pair of tickets and complimentary drink for Far From The Madding Crowd on Wednesday 16 April 2025 by liking, sharing and tagging in a someone you’d like to take to our World Theatre Day Competition Facebook post which will appear on Thursday 27 March 2025.
2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom except
3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Council reserve the right to refuse entry or to refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions
5. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are above. This competition will be promoted across Facebook.
6. You can only apply once to the competition.
7. The competition will close at 5pm on Friday 28 March 2025. After this time on this date then no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
8. No responsibility can be accepted by the Council for entries not received for whatever reason
9. Rules of the competition – You must like, share and tag the person in the post you’d like to join you, on our Facebook page. Entrants agree for their social/photo/picture to be shared on the arts centre and council’s social media channels, newsletters and press releases as required.
10. All competition entries and accompanying material e.g. photos submitted to the Council will become the property of the Council and will not be returned
11. The Council reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice, where it becomes necessary to do so. Any changes to the competition terms and conditions will be notified to entrants as soon as practicable.
12. The Council are not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
13. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
14. Names will be selected at random on Monday 31 March 2025 using an independent online tool.
15. The winners will only be contacted by social media by Wednesday 2 April 2025. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond to claim the prize within 14 days of notification, the Council reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and select a replacement winner in accordance with the procedure described above.
16. Winners will be able to collect their tickets and drink voucher from the Cornerstone Arts Centre box office. We will require proof of identity upon collection such as evidence of the email address, drivers licence etc
17. The Council’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Council will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate a winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Council or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
19. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any court proceedings will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
20. The Council must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Council will send the surname and county of winners, to anyone who emails the Council at the following cornerstone@southoxon.gov.uk within one month after the closing date of the competition. If you object to any or all of your surname and county being published or made available, please contact the Council marketing@southandvale.gov.uk . In such circumstances, the Council must still provide the information on winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority on request
21. The winners agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the other winners or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. If the winner does not wish to have their image published the Council`s marketing team can discuss other options with them at point of collection of the prize.
